Exhibition to stop people wigging out at bald women

WOMEN are motivated to be as bald as possible from the eye-brows down, but thinning locks on their go is considered with a kind of judgment that makes them either "villains or victims".
That's the perspective of SCU press student Brigette Lucas who has a inherited immunological illness known as hair reduction areata that can cause thinning locks on the head and other areas of the body.
Brigette is currently presenting in SCU's Studio room One29 selection with an display known as 'A Hairless Head - A Furry Vagina' that reveals some of her trip with the illness and is designed to task generalizations about locks and elegant elegance.
The display functions images of other women tossing their locks around showing fulfillment, or taking their locks to show disappointment and a variety of other feelings. There is also a selection of Lace Wigs that Brigette has used over the years that she motivates audiences to try on to see how it changes the way they perspective themselves.

"The wig conceals who you are, but simultaneously you're afraid of being found dressed in a wig, so it can become more traumatic than the situation," she said.
There is also a video clip cycle that reveals Brigette eliminating a wig and males her go that was taken by her partner, David Baldock.
"That was initially I shaved it. It was a challenging choice because with hair reduction there is always this wish that your locks will come back...It was a very psychological response; there are lots of crying and some fun," she said.
For the published aspect of her task, Brigette researched the tasks bald ladies have been in allocated in well-known culture; from the Demon in the movie The Interest of the Jesus to Natalie Portman's personality in V for Grudge where her go is shaved as a penalties.
"Hair is such a big aspect of who we are as women. Even if you cut it, that's an appearance of a edgy act... Men get to suffer hair reduction and it's seen as something natural.
